NEW all-weather Fujifilm FinePix XP70 allows you to capture the action regardless of the elements

Whether you’re skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking or swimming, the tough NEW Fujifilm FinePix XP70 allows you to capture all the exciting action with its impressive waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and dustproof features.

Available in Orange, Blue or Yellow, photographers can drop, soak, freeze or be in a dusty environment without damaging the FinePix XP70 or its ability to capture great photographs.

  • Waterproof to 10 metres perfect for underwater photography, photo capture in heavy rain or snow, or even washing the camera under the tap when it gets dirty.
  • Shockproof to 1.5 metres it can handle being dropped or knocked around.
  • Dustproof – use it in dusty conditions without the worry of it clogging up.
  • Freezeproof to -10°C – perfect for skiing, snowboarding or other sub-zero activities.

Extra protection from the elements

The FinePix XP70 features a double lock mechanism to protect the battery and memory card compartments and prevent accidental opening. There is also a front grip and thumb rest for assured handling.

Wireless connectivity

The FinePix XP70 comes equipped with wireless functionality for easy image sharing via a smartphone or tablet (1). Complete with a built-in Smartphone Send function, photographers can select their images or movies (2) to transfer without having to create an ID or password. Simply download and install the free Fujifilm Camera Application on the receiving device.

FinePix XP70 images can also be backed up to a computer. After installing the free dedicated software “FUJIFILM PC AutoSave” onto your computer, simply connect to a WiFi® router, select ‘Save on Computer’ and let the FinePix XP70 do the rest.

16.4 megapixel sensor for powerful performance

The FinePix XP70 boasts a 1/2.3-inch 16.4 megapixel CMOS sensor for impressive results in a wide range of conditions. Coupled with a powerful processor, the camera can deliver a rapid performance by pressing a dedicated continuous shooting button on the back of the camera. Full resolution images can be captured at up to 10 frames per second, while an incredible 60 frames per second can be captured at reduced resolution (2MP).

High quality, shake-free shots

The FinePix XP70 incorporates a 5x optical zoom lens that includes a 28mm (35mm equivalent) wide-angle setting for sweeping landscape and scenic shots. The optical zoom range can be doubled to 10x with Fujifilm’s Intelligent Digital Zoom technology, while the camera’s Optical Image Stabilisation function ensures that any effects from camera shake are minimised.

Action Camera mode

A raft of movie capture functions are available on the FinePix XP70, including a new Action Camera mode. Available with the optional Action Camera Lens - which turns the camera lens into a fixed 18mm (35mm equivalent) the mode enables you to mount the camera on your body or sporting equipment to enable hands-free shooting. In Action Camera mode, the rear LCD turns off automatically to extend recording time.

Full HD movie capture

The FinePix XP70 offers Full HD movie capture (1920 x 1080) at the press of a button. High speed action can be captured at up to 380 frames per second, while the Wind Filter setting reduces wind noise to improve sound recording quality. Functions such as Movie Trimming and Movie Join help to speed up in-camera editing.

Other versatile modes

Scene Recognition mode rapidly determines the scene being captured before optimising focus, exposure and shutter speed, while the underwater and underwater macro functions are ideal for capturing all the action in the water.

Ten Advanced Filter functions are available for still and movie capture to create artistic effects – Pop Colour, Toy Camera, Miniature, Partial Colour, High Key, Soft Focus, Cross Screen, Dynamic Tone, Fish Eye and Low Key.

Multi-frame processing is used to capture two or more shots for a High Dynamic Range (HDR) image that preserves detail in both shadows and highlights.

The Motion Panorama 360° function also offers the opportunity to capture superb panoramic shots at the touch of a button.

Anti-reflective LCD coating

Due to the range of weather conditions the FinePix XP70 can be exposed to, an anti-reflective coating is applied to the rear LCD so it is easy to view or compose images, regardless of whether you are on the beach or in the snow.

FUJIFILM Product Manager Consumer Products, Melissa Butcher, said the FinePix XP70 is perfect for active people who are keen to have a versatile and durable camera on hand that lets you capture images in extreme environments.

The recommended retail price for the Fujifilm FinePix XP70 is yet to be advised. The FinePix XP70 is expected to be available in Australia in March 2014.
