She has also covered events as diverse as the riots in Indonesia, Queens Elizabeth's 2000 tour of Australia and the first tremors of East Timor's bid for independence.

Her intimate photographic portrayal of the Martu people (one of the last Indigenous groups in Australia's Great Sandy Desert to come into contact with Europeans) won her a 2005 Walkley Award, the most prestigious award in Australian journalism. Megan was also voted by her peers as winner of the Photographers Choice Awards in 2006.

Half Day Workshops

The first of two Melbourne workshops, 'A Fujifilm X Series Experience with Megan Lewis' will be a completely free event, which will be held at Michael's Camera & Video. The event starts at 10am and runs until 3pm on Saturday 26th September, with the option to join the separate Global 500px Fujifilm Photo Walk event in Melbourne.

During this free documentary experience, join Megan Lewis as she takes you through an interactive workshop and walk exploring the tools required to take inspiring portraits. After a short presentation on Fujiflm X Series cameras and hearing about the amazing work and life of Megan, you have the opportunity to work together in pairs or groups as you get in the mindset of a documentary photographer. The tools allowed during this free workshop include a camera, light reflector and your imagination.

Diamonds located in Adelaide, will be hosting a Fujifilm Presentation and Photo Walk with Megan Lewis on the 3rd October 2015. The four hour event runs from 10.30am to 2.30pm and costs $49.00. During the event you get to try out a range of X Series cameras and lenses as you participate in a Photo Walk around Adelaide. With Megan as your guide you're bound to gain some insight into what makes a great documentary photo.

Full Day Workshops

"Photography is a wonderful vehicle for meaningful interactions" - this quote best represents Megan's documentary workshop 'Mindful Documentary Photography', which will be held in both Melbourne and Adelaide. With a maximum of 14 other photographers you'll have the opportunity to learn from Megan's experience and the mindfulness techniques she uses as a Subconscious Mind Therapist.

The full workshop day starts with being exposed to an intimate and more personal experience with Megan as she teaches you how to better engage with your subjects. If you have an open mind and desire to have a deeper connection within yourself and your subjects with the ultimate goal to improve your documentary photography then this is the workshop for you.
