4 Focus Tips With instax

Posted by Fujifilm Instax November 16, 2018

The instax line of cameras is notoriously easy—and fun—to use. From lime green to classic black and silver, you’ll find a model to suit your style. And you’ll also find one to suit your lifestyle, whether you just want to point and shoot or prefer to do a bit of editing before printing.

There are, however, a few things to pay attention to when focusing your shot. Keep reading for four tips to help you enjoy your instax camera even more.

1. Remember the sweet spot. If you’re shooting at a distance of anywhere from half a meter to two and a half meters, you don’t have to focus on focusing at all. That’s the sweet spot of any instax camera—and your shot will turn out great.

2. Use the lens attachment. If you have the instax Mini 9, your camera will focus best if it’s at least 60 centimeters away from your subject. But what about those times you want to capture the beauty of a flower? Or maybe you’re a foodie who wants to get that great meal you had on film? The good news is that your instax Mini 9 comes with a close-up lens attachment that lets you focus between distances of 35 and 50 centimeters. This attachment also allows you to take selfies using the small mirror beside the lens.

3. Take advantage of options. Want a shot of your dog’s sweet face? Or maybe you’re just looking to take a quick shot of a party you’re at? Whatever you’re looking to photograph, the instax Mini 90 NEO CLASSIC can back you up—and it couldn’t be easier. Simply use the settings for “macro,” “normal” or “landscape” to capture the shot you want.

4. Keep it simple. The SQUARE SQ10 is a hybrid that allows you to edit your photos—then have them in your hand a few moments later. It’s also as easy as it gets to focus. All you need to do is press the shutter half way down and your instax will automatically focus as close as 10 centimeters—or as far as the eye can see

There’s a reason instax cameras are becoming more popular — you get a high-quality photo in an instant. Memories are made to treasure, and instax helps you do exactly that.
