December 2014 saw the introduction of Onset R40i to Inspire Image Co., Ltd, Thailand's leading signage printing company. The newly installed printer is a wide-format UV inkjet system manufactured by UK-based Inca Digital Printers Limited and distributed by Fujifilm, and this marks the first case in which the Onset range has been brought into Southeast Asia.
Inspire Image is one of the five major signage printing companies in Thailand. Focusing on signs and sales promotion materials, the list of their primary customers span from well-known cosmetics brands to local restaurant franchises, and they are also making plans to foray into package printing as well.
Amid Thailand's growing signage printing market, an increasing number of small- and medium-sized printing enterprises are falling by the wayside, resulting in intensified competition among the five leading companies. Although most competitors have been installing wide-format printers, Inspire Image has, after careful comparisons and considerations with other manufacturer's models, opted for the Onset R40i.
The factors that made Inspire Image choose the Onset R40i were the outstanding productivity, excellent printing quality, and far lower running costs compared to models from other companies. The Onset R40i has features enabling economical use: For instance, a) its dedicated flushing solution eliminates the need to consume ink for flushing purposes; b) the long-term life of the R40i's printhead allows for a replacement-free use for approximately six months (This is a 1/30 frequency of other manufacturers' units); and c) the Fujifilm-made ink offers both relatively inexpensive costs and low per-unit area ink usages. Inspire Image also has high expectations for the elaborate support system delivered by two FUJIFILM (Thailand) Ltd. engineering staffs, who serve exclusively for the Onset range.
Meanwhile, with eyes set to reinforce the distribution of wide-format printers in Thailand and throughout Southeast Asia, FUJIFILM Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (FFAP), Fujifilm's regional headquarters for Southeast Asia, is building a Demonstration Center near the international airport in Bangkok. Fujifilm plans to put UVistar Pro8, Acuity EY, Acuity LED, as well as the Onset R40iLT on display when the Center opens this early May in a drive to call attention to the company's extensive portfolio of wide-format printers.
