Multi-award winning FUJIFILM X100S is now back in black

FUJIFILM announced today that it is introducing an all-black model of its multi-award winning X100S compact camera in response to strong demand.

The popular FUJIFILM X100S was crowned the European Advanced Compact Camera for 2013-2014 at the esteemed European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) awards.

Complete with the very latest in digital imaging technology encased in a classic retro-style body, the FUJIFILM X100S is particularly suited to street photography – it’s discreet, light, compact, blends in with the surroundings, and has a quiet release.

Just some of the features available on the portable FUJIFILM X100S include a Fujinon 23mm F2 (35mm equivalent) fixed single focal length lens, 16.3 million pixel APS-C size X-Trans CMOSTM II sensor, as well as a Hybrid Viewfinder that can switch between its Optical Viewfinder and Electronic Viewfinder.

The FUJIFILM X100S has the ability to capture high resolution images that are comparable to those captured on full frame sensors. Thanks to its optical low-pass filter-less design and powerful processor, the FUJIFILM X100S produces clear images with minimal graininess, even at a high ISO setting.

During manual focusing, images can smoothly and instinctively be focused using Fujifilm’s Digital Split ImageTM and Focus Peak Highlight functions.

On this newly released X100S model, all of its high quality components – including the top plate and dials – are uniformly black, giving the camera a premium feel.

The following X100S optional accessories are also available in black to coordinate:

  • 28mm wide angle photography via the Wide Conversion Lens (black)
  • Black lens hood
  • Adapter ring for the filter
  • Black leather case

FUJIFILM Australia Product Manager – Consumer Products, Melissa Butcher, said the premium all-black X100S is an ideal choice for photographers who are keen to have a compact alternative to their bulky SLR camera.

The recommended retail price for the all-black FUJIFILM X100S is yet to be advised. It is expected to be available in Australia in March 2014.
