Fujifilm Australia and Video-8 Media today gave details of their prize sponsorships for the upcoming 2010 Elliot Rocke Mudfest – Mudgee International Short Film Festival.
Co-founder of Elliot Rocke Mudfest Peter Scott said, “Elliot Rocke Mudfest - the Mudgee International Short Film Festival is now in its 6th year and regularly attracts 1000 people to the lawns of Elliot Rocke Estate to catch a selection of some of the best short films not just from Australia but from around the globe. Every year for the past 3 years the festival has attracted more than 500 entries from 30 different countries (516 in 2010). Prize money in 2010 has been lifted to $3,000 for the judges’ choice award and we are delighted to again have the Fujifilm best Australian entry prize of $1,500 of Fujifilm recording media and Video-8 taking care of all the mastering, duplication and DVD replication of the entries. There’s also our regular People’s Choice $500 cash award too.”
Elliot Rocke Mudfest has also been selected by Tourism NSW as one of its Regional Flagship Events for 2010 and is featuring in its advertising campaigns.
Scott continued, “We have also commissioned Big Screen Promotions to provide all sound and projection and this will be on a 8 metre wide inflatable screen which is 25% larger than the screen used in previous years. Once again the evening will kick off with live music from 6.30pm whilst the moviegoers picnic on the lawns and as the sun goes down the show will commence at 8pm. This year’s festival is shaping up to be the best ever!”
Fujifilm Australia General Manager Recording Media / Motion Picture Film Marc Van Agten said, “I am delighted to announce that Fujifilm will again support Mudfest by giving $1,500 worth of Recording Media products to the maker of the film awarded ‘Best Australian film entry’. Fujifilm has had a long and distinguished history in the movie industry and I’m very pleased to say that our motion picture film products are increasingly becoming the stock of choice for independent film makers in Australia.”
Video-8 Managing Director Robert Scott added, “With our recent acquisition of TVD Broadcast we are able to continue the excellent work they have done supporting previous Mudfests. Video-8 is proud to be able to give something back to the industry, especially at such a worthwhile and well organized event such as Mudfest.”

Elliot Rocke Mudfest screens on Saturday 20 March, 2010. Entry is free with the only criteria being that films must not be any longer than 15 minutes and comply with the Australian MA15+ classification.
