SYDNEY, 23 February 2010 – Fujifilm Australia and Video-8 today gave details of their sponsorships for the upcoming 2011 Bunnamagoo Mudfest – Mudgee International Short Film Festival.
Co-founder of Mudfest Peter Scott said, “Mudfest - the Mudgee International Short Film Festival is now in its 7th year and regularly attracts over 1000 people to watch of some of the best short films not just from Australia but from around the globe. I’m delighted to say this year we have broken all previous records with over 600 entries. We are also particularly excited to have agreed Bunnamagoo Estate Wines as our new venue for Mudfest for 2011 and are delighted to again have Fujifilm sponsoring the Best Australian Film award with a prize of $1,500 worth of Fujifilm recording media and Video-8 taking care of all the mastering, duplication and DVD replication of the entries. There’s also our regular Judges’ and People’s Choice awards too, so it’s going to be a great festival.”
Screening on March 26 Mudfest is renowned for showcasing some of the best short films from around the globe and is the ideal place for new and seasoned filmmakers alike to display their work. Films may be any genre but must not be longer than fifteen minutes in duration and must comply with the Australian MA15+ classification.
Fujifilm Australia General Manager Recording Media / Motion Picture Film Marc Van Agten said, “I am delighted to announce that Fujifilm will again support Mudfest by giving $1,500 worth of recording media products to the winner of the Best Australian Film. Fujifilm is a proud supporter of the Australian film industry and independent film festivals like Mudfest are a great showcase for our local filmmakers.”
Video-8 CEO Gareth Collins added, “Video-8 is very pleased to be continuing our long association with Mudfest. Along with Fujifilm we are great supporters of the local film industry and are glad we can be a part of it in such a worthwhile way.”
Peter Scott concluded, “As ever Mudfest will kick off with live music from 6pm whilst the moviegoers picnic on the Bunnamagoo Estate lawns, with the films commencing under the stars around 8pm.
