FUJIFILM AND FUJINON SPONSOR ACS STATE AWARDS FOR CINEMATOGRAPHY

Fujifilm and Fujinon is extending its role as Major Sponsor of the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) with a special themed sponsorship of the ACS’ State Awards for Cinematography commencing in November 2012.

This year’s ACS awards began with a successful SA and WA State Awards at the Hotel Grand Chancellor on Hindley in Adelaide on Saturday October 27. This month sees the Queensland and Northern Territory Awards on 10 November at The Tivoli in Brisbane, followed on 17 November by the NSW and ACT Awards at The Masonic Centre in Sydney and finally the Victorian and Tasmanian Awards on 24 November at Melbourne’s Victorian Arts Centre.

FUJINON OPTICAL DEVICES DIVISION OF FUJIFILM TO DEBUT TWO BREAKTHROUGH HDTV LENSES AT NAB 2012 ON BOOTH #C7525

SYDNEY, 22 March 2012 – FUJIFILM Optical Devices Division has announced that two compact HD lenses, each featuring technical firsts in their size, will make their debut in booth C7525 at the 2012 NAB show, which runs from April 14-19 in the Las Vegas Convention Center. The two new HDTV lenses, which expand their respective product lines, are the HA19x7.4BERM/BERD 2/3-inch Premier Series high-performance HD ENG/EFP production lens and the XA19x7.4BESM compact, HDTV studio and field box-style lens.


The two lenses both with 19x zoom ratios, are the first in such a compact size to feature three floating zoom groups and Aspherics, which combine to produce unsurpassed optical performance. They also feature the latest EBC coating, resulting in richer colors and improved blue transmittance.

FUJIFILM LAUNCHES NEW ENG LENS AT NAB 2012 ON BOOTH #C7525

SYDNEY, 14 March 2012 – FUJIFILM Optical Devices Division has announced that it will introduce the new Fujinon XA20xs8.5BERM 2/3-inch, cost-effective ENG-Style lens with a 2x extender for the first time at its NAB 2012 booth (#C7525).

Fujifilm Australia General Manager Motion Picture Film, Recording Media and Optical Devices Marc Van Agten said, “The new XA20x is a telephoto lens with a 2x range extender, an ergonomic digital servo, Quick Zoom and inner focus. It also features improved corner resolution. It is the first of the EXCEED series of economically priced ENG lenses to include a 2x extender. The new lens is ideal for a variety of production applications from newsgathering to in-studio use. It can be used with rear controls for zoom and focus, so is suitable for tripod use.”

The company will also showcase a variety of its industry-leading, high-end optics during the show, which runs from April 14-19 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

FUJIFILM DISPLAYS TRIPLE AND QUAD LAYER XDCAM DISCS AT INTER BEE AND INCREASES STOCK LEVELS OF PRO MEDIA IN AUSTRALIA

SYDNEY, 19 December 2011– At the recent Inter BEE exhibition in Tokyo, Fujifilm unveiled their new XDCAM triple layer and quad layer discs which are currently in final development stage and which the company plans to release in Australia and throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Fujifilm also made a commitment to their Pro Media customers across Australia to have several months’ worth of stock available at all times throughout 2011 and 2012 to avoid any shortages and bottlenecks.

AUSTRALIAN DEPARTMENT OF PARLIAMENTARY SERVICES CHOOSES FUJINON LENSES

SYDNEY, 21 November 2011 – Recently the Australian Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS), the service department for Australia's national parliament, looked to replace the production television cameras they used for the televised coverage of parliamentary proceedings and in the process, chose Fujinon as the HD lenses to accompany the new cameras.

DPS provides services and facilities that enable Senators and Members of the House of Representatives to work and communicate with each other, with their constituents and with the community. In other words, DPS facilitates the Australian Parliament to the Australian community and to the world.

‘AUSSIE’ TODD SASAKI LEAVES FUJIFILM AUSTRALIA TO SET UP FUJIFILM OPTICAL DEVICES DIVISION UK

SYDNEY, 9 November 2011 – After a successful stint as Marketing Specialist for Fujifilm Australia, Fujifilm announced today that Todd Sasaki will be moving overseas to set up Fujifilm Optical Devices Division UK. Sasaki who played a key role in liaising with the Fujinon factory in Omiya, Japan whilst at Fujifilm Australia has been with the company 16 years and is seen as a rising star within the organisation.

Fujifilm Australia General Manager Motion Picture Film, Recording Media and Optical Devices Marc Van Agten said, “Todd has excellent product specialist knowledge of the Fujinon Optical Range and is the perfect person to set up the new UK office.”

Currently Fujifilm’s European division is responsible for the UK business so Sasaki’s promotion will also ensure better, more comprehensive local sales, service and support in the territory.

Todd Sasaki said, “Our goals are to establish an office, increase our business and expand our offering to clients by servicing them directly in addition to using our established agent network. This is part Fujifilm’s global plan to better support customers in their local countries and regions.”

The new Fujifilm office will be in Soho Square, Central London and is scheduled to open in November 2011.

FUJIFILM FUJINON WIN BEST LARGE EXHIBIT AWARD AT SMPTE 2011 AND SEE SIGNIFICANT BUSINESS FROM THE SHOW

SYDNEY, 15 August 2011 – The Fujifilm Fujinon stand won the Best Large Exhibit award at this year’s SMPTE 2011 exhibition. The award which is judged on Staff Presentation, Visitor Interaction, Product Display, Stand Design and Overall Integration of stand elements was presented to Fujifilm Australia General Manager Motion Picture Film, Recording Media and Optical Devices Marc Van Agten by Gary Fitz-Roy, CEO of Expertise Events.

Van Agten said, “We are delighted to have won the award for Best Large Exhibit at this year’s SMPTE. Our stand this year was our biggest ever promoting seven key areas including LTO video tape and digital video archiving, a 3D demo with Panavision Quasar 3D camera rig system and Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W3 camera, Fujifilm Motion Picture Film, ARRI ALEXA Plus camera systems, Fujinon camera lenses for ENG, Fujinon camera box lenses and ImmerVision 360 camera system, lenses and software. We also had our own Barista making excellent coffee. This year’s SMPTE was a very successful show that included comprehensive training for Sony sales reps in lens technology, many leads from our clients and partners and great interest in the Datastore LTO-5 conversion box. Many of our customers were also amazed at the ImmerVision 360 degree panamorph lens system and we have had a substantial number of enquiries about it as a result of the show.
